San Diego VSA Temecula Winery Tour

Del Skoog coordinates another successful tour

By Lara-Mia Phillips

Sunday March 25th turned out to be a beautiful sunny day for the Temecula Wine Tour organized by Del Skoog. We were joined by the Orange County VSA.  In attendance were many 1800Ss an 1800ES a 240 two 122Ss, a PV 544 and Dave Hunt’s 1956 P1900.  Also in attendance were a Honda CRX and a Saturn Wagon….remember, if your Volvo can’t make it, it doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the fun!   We started off on the tour at approximately 11:00 AM at the Mobil station off of 79

South, most of the Volvos were there by 10AM, which gave us some time to socialize and gawk at the beautiful cars.

We set off first to the Callaway Winery down the windy country roads of Temecula.  The Callaway winery had many wines for us to choose from, the 1998 Coastal Reserve Merlot being a particularly good wine.  Next we set off to the Keyway winery, a small winery with some very fine wines.  There we met a couple from Orange County who owned a new Volvo S40.  Hopefully they will join the Orange county VSA after chatting with Dave Hunt and seeing his beautiful P1900.   Our final destination was Wilson Creek Winery.
