According to “Statistic Magazine” Number 10, 1957 the Volvo-company is the leader among passenger cars, trucks, busses as well as wheeled tractors. The number of driven vehicles at the year shift 1956 – 1957 is shown in the table to the side.

The year 1957 have for the Volvo-company’s part meant a new record year. The number of vehicles manufactured rose from 55,100 in 1956 to about 65,500 in 1957. Cash flow increased from 821 million kronor to about 950 million kronor. Sales statistics show that Volvo will maintain its lead and – in spite of stiff competition – perhaps even increase it.

The biggest threat to Volvo’s domestic dominance is today no competing marque. It is instead foreign countries, whose appetite for Volvo products is growing faster than the factory can presently expand its capacity.
