1998 Christmas Party
By Jeff Perry
Last year's Christmas party was held at the Vista
home of members Ed & Betty Huston. Their charming English Tudor
style house, which Betty has beautifully decorated, gave the party a
wonderful big-family-like atmosphere.

Huston's home at the end of a cul-de-sac provided a
great location to both park and visit.
The Club's tradition of providing roast turkey and
carved ham continued, through the efforts of Bob & Del Skoog.
After dinner, co-founding member Bud Hartwell was honored for his
contributions to the SDVSA Chapter by being presented the Sir Thomas
Crapper Award. Bud is only the second member to ever receive this
highly coveted award!
As in the past, the bringing of unwrapped stuffed toys for children in
local hospitals was again coordinated by Cindy Hartwell. Moreover,
SDVSA editor Goran Freske continued his tradition of bringing a, much
sought after, set of stainless-steel valve stems as a "White
Elephant" gift.
As the pictures show, we were blessed with a warm
December day; combined with the Huston's excellent location, all
party-goers were provided an outstanding view of the beautiful
surrounding Vista & Oceanside skyline. By day's end, a total of
thirty-six individuals and nine 1800's had attended. Left,
Chapter coordinator Russ Orrell talks with two neighbors curious about
the P1800 marque.
The Club thanks Ed & Betty for providing their
home and helping to make this another great SDVSA Christmas Party!

Members and their families pose for a late
afternoon photo.
